As part of Saagara’s Spicy Muse Project, we want to celebrate Stress Awareness Month by helping you conquer your stress. We will be posting one stress-relieving recipe a day we have collected from various sources that have inspired us. Enjoy!

Greens are full of nutrition that our bodies crave but sometimes have a difficult time digesting.  By blending greens, their structures are broken down so they can be properly digested in your body. Because the nutrients of vegetables are stored in its cell walls, the cells need to be broken to release the nutrients. Many of us do not have strong enough jaws for this.

Thus, blending veggies in a smoothie can be ideal for anyone with digestive problems or on the go.



There are many recipes out there for making these “green smoothies.” Here is one:

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 cup of kale
  • ½ cup of spinach
  • 1 kiwi
  • 1 banana
  • Ice
  • ½ cup of orange juice

Directions: Put all ingredients in a blender. Blend and pour into a cup. Enjoy!
